Acquisition System
Csmart-Digit Desktop
Csmart-Digit Desktop Components
The acquisition system consists of the following components:
Analysis Device
Horizontal transport system, composed of a hopper and electromagnetic vibrator.
Conveyor belt system with a rubber belt, aluminum profiles, and a DC motor for belt movement.
Computer vision system with a camera and circular LED illuminator.
Rack and casing system for securing, enclosing, and protecting the above components.
NCM / HS Code: 8479.89
Connection Device
A microcontroller board for dedicated communication with the analysis device, acting as its controller.
Mini USB cable for serial connection with the computer.
Desktop or Laptop Computer
A hardware and software configuration compatible with the requirements of the analysis device.
Csmart-Digit Desktop Software
The Csmart-Digit Desktop is a locally installed computerized system with automatic updates if the computer is connected to the internet. It is recommended to keep the software updated, although internet access is not required for operation. The software features its installer and does not use a database management system, storing data in HDF5 format (Hierarchical Data Format, version 5). This format allows for:
Hierarchical data storage.
Efficient management of large data volumes.
High-performance reading and writing, widely used in scientific and artificial intelligence applications.
For Csmart-Digit, each analysis is saved in a single HDF5 file containing:
All captured images.
All data extracted from the images.
Metadata or descriptors manually added by the user.
The samples acquired by the analysis device can be reclassified multiple times using different AI models without needing to reacquire the images of the same sample. This approach ensures the centralization and organization of all information related to a specific analysis, guaranteeing accessibility and ease of data management.
Hardware Requirements
Operational and Installation Requirements
The installation location and operating system must allow the creation of subprocesses (spawn processes) without requiring administrative privilege elevation during runtime.
The installation location and operating system must permit the inclusion and modification of system environment variables necessary for proper operation.
The computer must be dedicated exclusively to the equipment, avoiding the installation of other software or background processes. This is especially important during the image capture process to prevent excessive RAM usage and performance degradation.
In the case of laptop usage, the computer must remain continuously connected to a power outlet to ensure stable power delivery during operation.
It is strongly recommended to install AnyDesk software for remote access. Remote access will only occur in the presence of an authorized person alongside the client’s computer.
The following drivers and libraries must be installed:
Basler Pylon version 8.0 or higher
UART CP210x driver
NVIDIA CUDA version 12
NVIDIA cuDNN version 9.5 (specific versions)
The system must be connected to a UPS (no-break) with a minimum capacity of 1600 VA, ensuring protection against power outages, voltage fluctuations, and electrical noise.
The equipment must not be installed in environments with high-frequency electromagnetic interference, such as areas near high-power motors, inverters, welding equipment, or radio-frequency generators, as these conditions may compromise the reliability and longevity of the electronic components.
