Configuring backup preferences and cloud server connectivity

The Backup Settings screen configures the server connection used for backing up analysis data to the Csmart cloud platform.

Configuration

The application connects to the Csmart API server for data backup. You can choose between:

Default Server

The standard Csmart cloud endpoint (pre-configured)

Custom Server

A custom API address for on-premises or private deployments

Toggle the Custom Server switch to enter a custom address. Changes are auto-saved with a 500ms debounce delay.

The default server is recommended for most users. Only switch to a custom server if your organization runs a private Csmart instance.

The screen shows the current backup connection status, indicating whether the server is reachable.

The server address selection (default or custom) and custom address value are persisted in the Electron Store.

Issue

Possible Cause

Solution

Status shows "Unreachable"

No internet connection or wrong server address

Check your network connection; verify the server address

Custom address not saving

Address format is invalid

Ensure the address starts with http:// or https://

Backup not working

Server address changed but not tested

Verify the connection status after changing the address
